Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)

What is the FSAG?
The Florida Student Assistance Grant is a need-based state/institutional administered program.
How do I apply for the FSAG?
Complete a FAFSA and mail to the Central Processing Center.
The student financial aid file must be complete prior to awarding the FSAG.
Priority awarding begins on April 15 each year.
How is eligibility determined?
Students are required to be Florida residents.
Students enrolled for less than 12 credit hours, but more than five credit hours, may be eligible for a prorated FSAG grant.
Priority is given to students whose financial aid files are completed by April 15.
Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Students must also adhere to the items listed under the General Eligibility Requirements for Student Aid.
How much is awarded in the FSAG?
The amount of the FSAG varies from $904 - $1808 (annual figure), depending on the student’s eligibility.
How are the FSAG funds issued?
Once the FSAG amount is determined, the student is sent an award letter that indicates the award amount per term.
Usually students who receive the FSAG also receive Pell Grant, which has paid for tuition and book costs. Therefore, FSAG funds are issued to each student after the balance check.
What are the criteria for continued eligibility?
  1. Maintain the Standards of Academic Progress for financial aid.
  2. Complete a FAFSA each academic year.
