Teaching-Learning Centers
The Teaching-Learning Centers (TLC), located on each campus, provide guidance and support to assist PHCC students in reaching their academic and personal goals. Each TLC has tutors who are able to help students overcome challenges to their academic success by answering questions and providing additional resources regarding coursework and study skills.
TLC services and resources
- Peer tutors who can assist currently enrolled PHCC students and organize/assist study groups
- Specific topic and/or subject area workshops
- Computers for student use
- Extra-credit opportunities as requested by instructors
- Assistance with SMARTHINKING.com, myPHCC, MyMathLab, MyReadingLab, and MyWritingLab
- TABE preparation for PHCC programs
- Testing services*
- TABE testing (West Campus TABE testing occurs at the career and testing center)
- College placement testing (West Campus placement testing occurs at the career and testing center)
- Make-up exams
- Exit exam retakes for college prep courses
- Adult Education/GED preparation (for those 18 years of age or older)
* Visit the career and testing center for additional testing services available at PHCC.
