EPI studentBecome a teacher in as little as seven months

Do you have a bachelor’s degree? If so, you can enroll in the Educator Preparation Institute at PHCC and be certified to teach in as little as seven months without quitting your day job. If you’ve ever considered becoming a teacher, there has never been a more opportune time, due to an unprecedented demand for certified educators in the state and throughout the country.

You choose... convenient online program or evening program at the New Port Richey campus

The EPI at PHCC provides people like you— people with bachelor’s degrees from regionally-accredited institutions— with the opportunity to become certified teachers - without the obstacles of excessive time, major expense and professional disruptions that typically prevent people from making a dramatic career change. By enrolling at the EPI, you’ll gain a solid foundation in classroom management, pedagogy and instructional strategies that will enable you to enter the classroom with the skills and confidence you need to be a successful teacher.

Should I become a teacher?

  • Do you want to influence lives in a positive way?
  • Do you want to reduce inequality in the classroom?
  • Do you want to have a positive impact on your community?
  • Do you want to change the future?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, then yes, you should become a teacher.

For more information about how you, as a teacher, can make a difference in children’s lives, watch these videos. To learn more about the EPI program visit our information page.
